Bordertown Ready To Embrace A New Deck Of Cards

It’s time to start a brand new chapter for the Fundy Region Transition House with the opening night for Chase the Ace.

Tonight is Week One in the new fundraiser, with a brand new deck of cards, taking place at Dooley’s in St. Stephen.

The last Chase the Ace fundraiser drew thousands of people to St. Stephen over a dismal winter season, filling restaurants, businesses, and parking lots on typically dull weekday evenings. The fundraiser lasted for fifty-one weeks, and raised $638, 500 for the Fundy Region Transition House, which is a safe haven for women and children leaving abusive relationships.

The winner from the last round was Jamie Linton of St. Stephen, who took home $331, 699.

This round of Chase the Ace will see proceeds go towards the FRTH’s Second Stage Housing project, an in-between for women and families leaving the Transition House before moving out on their own.

Tonight, tickets can be purchased at Dooley’s only from 7-9pm, and live feeds will be shown at Pita Pit, Kelly’s on King, and the 5 King’s Restaurant.

The jackpot is starting at $2000.
