The floodwaters may have receded back to normal after rising to historically high levels but New Brunswick is far from being out of the woods when it comes to dealing with the aftermath.
Flood recovery efforts are continuing in the province. About 12,000 residents across New Brunswick were affected and just over 2600 residents have registered damage for disaster financial assistance.
Five roads remain closed and there are still some detours in place as engineers from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure figure out what needs to be done to make them safe.
Flood debris pick-up is continuing in the Greater Fredericton and Saint John regions.
NB Power has reconnected about half of the customers who were disconnected during the flood. The province says that in some cases reconnection hasn’t been possible because the homeowner hasn’t started the repair or recovery process.
