Aaron Kennedy To Be Named Liberal Candidate For Quispamsis

You might know him from working with the town of Quispamsis or from his work organizing sports events in the area — but he’s now looking to take the plunge into politics.

Aaron Kennedy will be named Liberal candidate for the riding of Quispamsis, which has been held by now Opposition leader Blaine Higgs for 8 years when he was first elected to the Legislature in 2010.

Kennedy says issues he’d want to tackle include the Squire Drive-Gondola Point arterial intersection.

“Mayor and council have written a number of letters to the province about that, I don’t know whether it’s traffic lights or a roundabout or reduced speed limits that is needed there, but something is needed,” Kennedy tells CHSJ News.

“Kennebecasis Valley Oasis is a fantastic program for the youth of our community, they’re looking for some sustainable funding. That’s another area that I’d like to help out with. Really the third thing is affordable housing.”

An uncontested nomination convention for the riding is happening today in Quispamsis.
