Saint John firefighters are investigating a blaze that damaged a vacant building on the lower west side.
Platoon chief Steve Voutour says they were called to Ludlow Street around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
Voutour tells us they were met with heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the two-storey wood structure building.
Solid work by Platoon 2 on the lower #Westside. As always we want to thank the photographers. The first 2 were taken by Jason Creamer, the second 2 by Joe Comeau.A coordinated exterior/interior attack led to this fire getting knocked down. #SJFFs #SaintJohn pic.twitter.com/f6RXu16HcJ

He says the fire was under control within about 25 minutes and no one was hurt.
Voutour says there was no power hooked up to the building and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
