It’s a challenge to find people to come in and donate blood over the summers with so many people on vacation and out of their regular routine.
The needs remains and right now Canadian Blood Services has issued an urgent appeal for blood donors.
Simond’s Fire Department just showed up in support of the challenge. Thanks folks!! @SimondsFD pic.twitter.com/a64MlZtWSU

New Brunswick’s territory manager, Jacqueline Alain tells CHSJ News a lot of units are required for hospital patients and anyone injured in a road collision.
“Some of them may require up to 50 units of blood so that means 50 donors have come in to donate blood and if we go through that much blood we need 50 new donors to come in and donate,” Alain says.
There is a blood donor clinic at 405 University Avenue in Saint John from 10 am to 2 pm today.
