UPDATED: Young Girl Rescued From Rocks At Pokiok Gorge

Saint John fire crews had to perform a water rescue at the Pokiok Gorge on Friday night.

Platoon chief Brian Wilson says they were called around 8 p.m. to pick up a young girl who was trapped on the rocks.

According to firefighters, the girl was playing with friends when she became trapped at the base of a sheer rock face.

Wilson says they dispatched their water boat and the girl was returned to the Saint John Power Boat Club uninjured.

Meanwhile, one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Golden Grove Road around 5 p.m. Friday.

There was also a three-car crash at Somerset and Magazine streets earlier in the day, but no one was hurt.
