UPDATED: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Has Ended

**Updated at 9:13 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10**

A severe thunderstorm watch that was in effect for Saint John, the KV, Sussex, St. Stephen and Fredericton has ended.

The watch was issued earlier this afternoon for much of New Brunswick as a cold front drifted across the province, bringing with it some thunderstorms.

Some areas were even placed under a severe thunderstorm warning as these storms intensified.

Forecasters warned about the potential for strong wind gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour, locally heavy downpours and large hail.

According to Environment Canada, hail possibly near the size of golf balls was observed on the Acadian Peninsula.
