UPDATED: Saint John Shooting Not Believed To Be Random, Say Police

**Updated at 2:19 p.m. on Saturday, July 14**

Police say no arrests have been made after a man was shot in east Saint John on Friday evening.

It happened around 9:40 p.m. on Mountain Road, which is off Westmorland Road near McAllister Drive.

Sgt. Greg Perkins told our newsroom Saturday morning that the victim was taken to hospital in serious condition.

In an afternoon update, police say the man remains in hospital and is in stable condition.

“This is not believed to be a random act,” police say in a news release, adding that no further information will be released at this time.
