A Conservative MP from Manitoba dropping by the Port city to speak about trade and tariffs as the federal opposition leading a cross-Canada Defend Local Jobs tour.
James Bezan tells Acadia News the trade tiff between Canada and the U.S continues to be a hot topic.
He says we have to figure out if a trade war benefits Canada and from what he hears, it doesn’t benefit anyone.
“Do we continue to take a strong position? As I’ve heard from some at the roundtables, it might feel good to punch that gorilla in the nose but just hang on because he’s about to rip your arms off.”
Bezan says we have to look at how tariffs impact our manufacturing sector and our ability to export to the states.
