Fire Damages Grand Bay-Westfield Home

Four people are safe after a fire broke out in their Grand Bay-Westfield home on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire chief Troy Gautreau tells our newsroom they got the call around 1:20 p.m. and found smoke coming from the rear of the Harris Road home.

Gautreau says the fire was contained to one of the bedrooms, but that room was heavily damaged.

He says the family will likely have to stay in a hotel on Wednesday night while the smoke is cleared from the home.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
