The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is looking to confirm reports of an entangled Right Whale about 22 nautical miles off the coast of Grand Manan Island.
The report came in late last night and due to vessel issues and poor weather conditions the Campobello Whale Rescue Team isn’t expected to reach the area for a few days.
DFO surveillance aircraft are keeping a close eye out for the entangled whale in hopes of assessing its condition.
It is not known what fishing zone may face a temporary closure at this time.
