Mayor Don Darling has been vocal in his support of the LGBTQ community and publicly criticized whoever did burnouts across Saint John’s two rainbow crosswalks both uptown and on the west side.
Darling says he doesn’t agree with people who make homophobic comments and then cloak them in opinion or religion.
“It’s still not acceptable to me. I’m a Christian man and I have to believe that if Jesus himself were here with us right now, He would hug and embrace everyone here and tell them he loved them.” Darling says.
