Sunday Is Family Day For St. Croix Pride

As St. Stephen embraces its first ever Pride Week, Sunday, August 19th, will be a day for families.

One of the organizers behind St. Croix Pride, Sue Weatherby says they are very excited for the Rainbow Family Fair and the Kirk McColl United Church on King Street has kindly offered up the use of their property and facilities.

“We wanted to have something for families, and this fair is aimed at families, it’s aimed at kids.”

All events on Sunday will be held at the Kirk McColl with a Pride Church Service at 11am, a Pride Sidewalk March at 12:30pm, and then the Rainbow Family Fair and BBQ will begin at 1:15 on the lawn and back yard.

Weatherby adds, “You don’t have to be a member of the LGBTQ community to come to any of our activities. This is a community activity. If you’re an ally and you want to come, we would be more than happy and encourage you to come.”

Weatherby says the Rainbow Fair will have food and refreshments, kids’ games, crafts, facepainting, and plenty of rainbows and fun.
