Premier Says Thousands Of New Jobs Were Created In Second Half Of 2016

Premier Brian Gallant says from June to November, there were over five thousand jobs added to the New Brunswick economy.

He vows growing the economy will be what his government will be focusing on this year but concedes it will be a challenge to maintain that economic momentum.

Meantime, the provincial NDP will be naming an interim leader and announcing a date for a leadership convention in the next couple of weeks after Dominic Cardy stepped down as leader, blaming too much infighting and in some cases extremism.

The NDP, under Cardy did not win any seats but did capture 13 per cent of the vote in the last provincial election.
