Enterprise Saint John has released a new five year work plan and one of the main objectives this year is to help launch 25 start up businesses.
CEO Steve Carson says the local economy will experience the most growth through start up businesses and also by growing existing businesses.
Carson says a lot of people don’t realize the number of job openings in our region right now.
He estimates the number of job openings at 700 in the Saint John region.
The five year plan was released in hopes of relieving recent doubt expressed about whether Enterprise Saint John was delivering value for money..
Carson says there will be a meeting soon with the Regional Oversight Committee and he’s confident this new plan builds on the strong foundation established over the last couple of years.
