June was a great month for selling homes in New Brunswick.
MLS home sales were down in 70 percent of Canadian markets in June with sales dropping nationally by 6.7 percent.
It was a different story in New Brunswick with an increase of over 10 percent on a year-over-year basis to 925 units in June of this year.
President of the New Brunswick Real Estate Association Robert Stewart says the housing market in the province remains affordable, which is a good investment for first-time buyers.
In June, home sales were up in Moncton by 17-percent, almost 13 percent in Saint John and just under 5-percent in Fredericton.
The average home sold for roughly $177,000, which is an increase of five percent compared to last year.
