State Of Emergency Remains In Effect, As BC Wildfires Continue To Burn

It has now been two weeks since the wildfires in BC began.

Over 150 wildfires are still burning, many of them still out of control, and over 45, 000 people remain away from their home, many of them unsure of whether or not they will even have a home to go back to..

It has been a very long haul for the over 3000 firefighters fighting the battle, that includes over 75 from New Brunswick.

The smoke from the wildfires has spread for kilometres, with winds blowing them into Alberta, and forcing Environment Canada to issue special statements with regards to air quality.

A state of emergency across the province of British Columbia remains in effect.

Further discussions are expected to happen today, to determine how the federal and provincial governments can provide greater assistance.
