National Energy Board Doubles Money For Intervenors

The National Energy Board has doubled the funding available to eligible intervenors for the Energy East hearing from $5 to $10 million.

After conducting a thorough examination, the Hearing Panel granted intervenor status to 337 applicants and commenter status to 271 applicants.

One of the intervenors from Saint John is clean air activist Gordon Dalzell who has concerns with any harmful emissions from 13 million barrels of oil that would be stored at a tank farm in the Anthony’s Cove area of Red Head.

Dalzell is concerned about those emissions being added to the industrial emissions we already breathe in east Saint John.
