Restoration of Loyalist House Nearing Completion

The 600 thousand dollar restoration of Loyalist House will finish up one week ahead of schedule.

The official opening is scheduled for July 13th but visitors, we are told, can return by the end of the month.

31 windows were restored and reinstalled over 9 weeks instead of the scheduled 10. There will be 62 shutters which have not been on in 120 years. Three sides of Loyalist House have been painted with three coats. The fence also had to be repaired and repainted.

The Loyalist House Restoration Project is looking for a horse drawn wagon and sled that could be donated for the refurbished coach house along with some outside benches, perennial flowers and bushes for the new garden being created along the outside of the new picket fence.

25 companies were involved in the restoration.
