Market Square has become to a large extent the place to be for Canada Day but there are lots of festivities taking place elsewhere in the region.
The newly restored Loyalist House on Union Street will be open today.
Stephanie Peterson of the Hardman Group says there’s entertainment on the Market Square boardwalk starting at noonhour until midnight.
As for the fireworks, Peterson says they will be set off at dusk. The exact time depends on when or if the fog starts rolling in. Peterson says they keep an eye on whether the fog is rolling in and if that’s starting to happen then the fireworks will go off.
In the K-V, Canada Day festivities take place at the Q-Plex in Quispamsis and in Rothesay on the Common.
In Grand Bay-Westfield, activities will be held at the Brundage Point River Centre.
Fireworks will be set off in St. Andrews tonight at 10 and in St. Stephen, Canada Day is being celebrated in the town square.
Saint John Transit is offering free bus rides to mark Canada Day and there’s free admission to the Museum in Market Square.
