Two Peregrine Falcons Found Injured In SE New Brunswick

Peregrine Falcons are listed as endangered in New Brunswick and two of the birds are now in the care of the Atlantic Wildlife Institute.

Pam Novak, Director of Wildlife Care, says one of the falcons was found injured in downtown Moncton at the Assomption Building.

“He actually looks like he ran right into the Assomption Building at some point. He had a broken beak with the tip of it off and it was still bleeding and still a pretty severe case of head trauma. So that bird is still in our care and probably will be with us for a little while,” she notes.

Novak says the other peregrine falcon was found by a visitor at Hopewell Rocks in the water.

The bird is currently being assessed but it was found suffering from a fractured wing.
