NB Tourism Enjoying Strong Summer So Far

The Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick is hearing good news about summer business so far with some attractions seeing a 40 percent increase along with solid numbers for hotels and campgrounds.

Association president/CEO Ron Drisdelle says Canada’s big anniversary bash is certainly helping to lure visitors from across the country and internationally.

“Canada 150 and all of the promotion and marketing around it has brought visitors from outside. Definitely when they are looking for places to visit New Brunswick would be one of the destinations especially on the experience side,” he notes.

Drisdelle says more American travellers are being lured here this summer by a slump in the Canadian dollar and many New Brunswickers are choosing staycations given the rising cost of travel.
