A fire at 145 St. James Street is under investigation.
Platoon Chief Roy Byers says crews got the call at around 3 o’clock this morning.
Crews arrived at the large vacant two-storey building and were able to contain the fire to the room of origin.
Byers says crews were on the scene for roughly four hours and the building suffered minor fire and moderate smoke and water damage.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is being investigated by the Saint John Fire Department and Major Crime Unit.
