Saint John Police Responded To Over 300 Calls This Weekend

Saint John police officers had a very busy weekend responding to more than 300 calls.

Sergeant Lori Magee says police went to a home on Rodney Street for a reported domestic assault where a man hit his girlfriend’s hand with a piece of wood and threatened her with a piece of glass.

Two people were arrested for assault on each at a King Street West residence. A 25-year-old woman said a man she boards with grabbed her by the throat while the 56-year-old man said the woman burnt him with a cigarette and poked him in the face.

Police were also called to a home on Wyatt Crescent and a 14-year-old boy was arrested for assault and assault with a weapon. It’s reported that the boy pushed his 10-year-old neighbour to the ground and punched him, then held a knife to the throat of the victim’s 12-year-old sister.

Neither the 10-year-old or the 12-year-old were hurt.
