Questions Raised About Carbon Tax

New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have already reached their climate change targets under the Paris Accord according to the National Energy Board.

Joel Richardson of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters says that raises the question of why a carbon tax is necessary.

Richardson says it will be incumbant upon the provincial government to spell out in detail what that carbon tax money will be spent on.

He adds there’s a lot of uncertainty about how the carbon tax will play out and what sort of effect it will have on the provincial economy.
