The Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada was on hand today in Moncton to announce the creation of the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre.
Over the next few years, the Gulf Fisheries Centre will be transformed into an innovative research science facility, that will help to engage Canadians in marine science and promote ocean literacy.
Dominic LeBlanc also announced this centre will eventually have the skeleton of a North Atlantic Right whale on exhibit, that will help serve as a reminder of why the health of the oceans and species within must be protected..
Since June, at least 13 North Atlantic right whales have been found dead in North American waters.
