Energy East Review Close To Resuming

It’s expected the National Energy Board will name a new panel to review the proposed Energy East pipeline any time now.

The review was suspended last August after a disruption in Montreal and then controversy over private meetings held with the then panel members.

Former Fundy Royal M-P Rob Moore, who’s now the Atlantic critic for the federal Conservatives, says he has high hopes for the project, saying it would service the most lucrative market. As such, Moore dismisses arguments that it’s not needed with the approval of two pipeline extensions out west.

Moore warns there are threats to the project and it will require political will to see it through.
