We are now at an important crossroads with the proposed Energy East pipeline project according to Jim Quinn, President and C-E-O at the port.
Quinn has spoken out in favour of the pipeline being built and he hasn’t changed his mind, maintaining Energy East is needed if you consider the volume of oil out west for export.
Quinn says there seems to a different attitude to pipelines with the incoming Trump administration which could revive projects that had been rejected. Quinn still believes there is room for Energy East as part of the mix.
The National Energy Board is expected to soon name a new panel to review the project.
