Saint John’s national historic monuments have been laid to waste for too many years.
That from Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long in a year-end interview with our newsroom where he describes the restoration of these sites as his second priority behind poverty.
He says the Trudeau government announced 13 million dollars for Martello Tower, 6 million dollars between all three levels of government to improve the City Market in Saint John, over a million for the Imperial Theatre and they are working on a wonderful project to rebuild Fort La Tour.
Long says one of the keys to the riding is diversifying our economy and developing our tourism industry. He describes the development of these sites as an untapped giant.
