The National Energy Board has named a replacement panel for the review of the Energy East pipeline project after the original panel stepped down over concerns of conflict of interest after the reveal of what was nicknamed the Charest Affair.
Hearings were held in Saint John and Fredericton but the process halted when the process hit Moncton and protestors stormed into the room, and things then came to a grinding halt with the three-member panel recusing itself.
There are few details at this point but we do have the names of the three members making up the panel: presiding is Don Ferguson and the others are Carole Malo and Marc Paquin. You can read their biographies here.
The release from the National Energy Board, says the three will figure out how to move ahead with the review process in the coming weeks.
