Uptown Saint John Is Embracing Pokémon Go

If you’re an aspiring Pokémon Master you might want to visit uptown Saint John.

University of Ottawa student Alexandria Ruigrok, who is working with Uptown Saint John this summer, has written a blog which lists all of the Pokémon GO spots that you can find in the uptown core.

She says she came up with the idea after playing the game over the weekend and noticed how many stops there are in the uptown area alone.

Ruigrok says there are 40 pokestops and six gyms in the area.

PokeStops can take the form of literally any landmark and can pop up in a number of public places where you can receive free items that you need to become a Pokémon master.

Uptown Saint John Executive Director Nancy Tissington says she can see Pokemon GO having a positive impact on local businesses because it encourages people to explore and dine in the uptown area.
