About $7000 worth of brass has been stolen from Saint John Energy on Simms street according to Saint John police.
Sergeant Lori Magee of the Saint John police says the caller says the suspects cut the chain link fence then removed brass connectors off of transformers.
Police are also investigating the theft of cable and copper wire from a plant on Latimore Lake Road. The caller said multiple thefts have taken place over the last week including a wheel of cable worth over $5000.
As well, a vehicle that was reported stolen is believed to have been discovered, burnt, in a gravel pit off of Champlain Drive. Sgt Magee says they were called to Gilford Street for a GMC Envoy that was taken and it was an officer that discovered the burnt vehicle. More forensic identification is needed to confirm it’s the one that was stolen.
