Town Council in Quispamsis will continue to review the Animal Control bylaw and in the meantime assemble a group to give council feedback on how to best move forward with possible amendments.
Chief Administrative Officer Susan Deuville says the group will include a variety of people from the community.
She says members from the Quispamsis Animal Advocates, Veterinarians and Animal Control will all be involved in the discussions.
Deuville says the police department will also have their input taken into consideration during the process.
President of the Quispamsis Animal Advocates Robert Hunt says it’s a good thing that the town is being thorough with the process and involving all of the stakeholders.
Hunt says this way “it won’t be our bylaw, it won’t be their bylaw, it will be something that works for everyone in the town”.
Mayor Gary Clark says there isn’t a set deadline because the main concern is that they get it right the first time.
