After losing 3-0 last night, the Blue Jays are down two games to none in their three game set against Boston. Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale put himself in the record books becoming the fastest player to strike out 1,500 batters. He accomplished the feat in 1,290 innings.

The Jays are on a downturn, having won only two games in their last eleven.

The Orioles shut down the Mariners 4-0, the Kansas City Royals defeated Tampa 6-2, and the match up between the Yankees and Cleveland in New York was postponed due to rain.

At the US Open, two Canadians will look to advance today. Eugenie Bouchard will meet Evgeniya Rodina this afternoon while 18 year-old Denis Shapovalov will face Jo-Wilfried Songa tonight.
