Trudeau Names David Adams Richards to the Upper Chamber

New Brunswick novelist David Adams Richards has been named to the Senate.

The appointment comes while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is visiting the province making stops in Moncton and Miramichi.

A news release says Richards was chosen using the open merit-based process put in place by the Liberal government early last year.

Trudeau says he’s happy to put forward another exceptional candidate as a new Senator for the province of New Brunswick.

Adams Richards hails from Newscastle and found his calling at the age of 14 after reading Oliver Twist.
