The owner of Kredl’s local grocery market in Hampton has learned some life lessons after nearly losing the longstanding business to bankruptcy.
A private funding agreement has been reached that will alow the store the time to put a longer term financial solution in place. Dave Wolpin says only an entrepreneur will really understand the situation and what they’ve been through.
“It’s very difficult and I know that because a couple of years ago I didn’t even understand. I didn’t even really know what it meant to be entrepreneurial,” Wolpin tells us.
He has become part of the Wallace McCain Institute at UNB which aims to give entrepreneurs what they need for success.
“I’ve learned in the past I’ve made a lot of decisions with the heart and ultimately in business, you have to make decisions with numbers and then you deliver those decisions with the heart.”
He says over the last 18 months they’ve been dealing with mistakes that were made three and four years ago.
Wolpin is confident he has secured a long term future for Kredl’s.
