MLB.com is reporting free agent outfielder Jose Bautista is close to signing again with the Toronto Blue Jays. Bautista, who’s 36, is a six time All-Star. He had 22 homers and 69 runs batted in last season. The Philadelphia Phillies and free agent outfielder Micheal Saunders, who played for the Jays, have agreed to a one year deal. Saunders hit 24 homers last season and was an All-Star for the first time.
A funeral service will be held for golf pro Jim Connolly of the Riverside Country Club at 11:00 Friday morning in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Gondola Point Road. He died Sunday from cancer.
