Over 600 Protests Held Worldwide In Support Of Women’s March On Washington

Over 600 protests were held around the world yesterday as women gathered to march and rally in solidarity one day after the U.S. presidential inauguration.

The purpose of the Women’s march is to speak out against the agenda of Donald Trump.

Senator for California Kamala Harris addressed the crowd in Washington, DC.

Harris says we are all and should be treated as equals.

24 Canadian cities held marches as well including Saint John.

Senator for Illinois Tammy Duckworth also addressed the crowd in Washington, DC, and encouraged women to run for office to become a voice of change.

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says Hillary Clinton put 65 million cracks in the hardest and highest glass sealing, and says women are now marching for similar reasons.

Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long and Mayor Don Darling both attended a march held here in the city.
