Finding blood donors in the summer can be challenging with Canadian Blood Services competing with sunny days and people going on vacation.
New Brunswick Territory Manager Jacqueline Allain says they still need donors to come in and donate so they can maintain the blood supply for hospital patients.
She says they need people with all types of blood to come and donate in order to meet the needs of hospital patients.
“Summer is a challenging time of year to keep up with hospital demand,” says Allain.
There is a clinic between 5pm and 8pm at the qplex in Quispamsis today. They’re hoping to collect 50 units of blood. For Saint John residents, anyone wanting to donate can make an appointment to go in between Thursday and Saturday.
