Common Council To Apply For $100,000 ACOA Funding For West Side Splash Pad

Kids and adults on the west side on Saint John will be getting a splash pad after Common Council voted to seek funding from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency for the project.

he community has already raised $700,000 and now the city will apply for $100,000 in funding offered by ACOA. Not all the councillors felt it was a good idea, especially Finance Chair David Merrithew who said they are using what he calls ACOA At Bats for the wrong reason.

There were about 20 children from the west side in the council chamber and once it was passed and they were out in the hallway, they let out a loud cheer.
