Ice Storm Claims Lives Of Two, Two Others Hospitalized For Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

The ice storm has claimed the lives of at least two people, according to Premier Brian Gallant.

In a live update from a news conference in Caraquet, Gallant said the deaths of two people are believed to be related to carbon monoxide poisoning.

He adds two people are also being treated for CO poisoning.

“The thoughts of New Brunswickers go out to the families, loved ones, and communities of these two individuals that we have lost, and we are also thinking of the two individuals who are injured, wishing them a speedy, and full recovery,” says Gallant.

Gallant also issued a reminder to people of the dangers of using generators, barbecues, and open flames indoors.
