City Police have forecast an increased deficit of $330 thousand as of June but that could change by the end of the year.
Mayor Don Darling, who’s on the Police Commission, says he expects the police department to have a balanced budget when it’s all said and done. The mayor admits he has no appetite these days for budget shortfalls.
A $96 thousand deficit is being forecast by the Aquatic Centre, $65 thousand of which is the city’s share. Common Councillor David Merrithew calls that a troubled budget.
The fire department, on the other hand, is under budget by $347 thousand.
