In the Majors, Cleveland won its 18th in a row, 3-2 over Baltimore and now has the best record in the American League, just three wins short of the best mark for consecutive wins that was set by the Chicago Cubs back in 1935…….The Boston Red Sox lost to Tampa Bay 4-1 as Rick Porcello, who won the Cy Young Award last year, lost his 17th of the season……The New York Yankees are now 3 and a half games back of the Red Sox after a 16-7 win over Texas with Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez each hitting two homers.
In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost their 10th straight, 8-1 to Colorado……Milwaukee swept the Cubs, 3-1 to move just two games back in the Central Division. St. Louis is also just two back after a 7-0 win over Pittsburgh…….Washington clinched the National League East with a 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

Former Chicago Blackhawk defenseman Pierre Pilote has died at the age of 85. He won the Norris Trophy as the best defenseman in the NHL three times in the 1960’s.
