Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser wants to set the record straight involving river ferries in New Brunswick.
Fraser says the provincial government doesn’t plan on making any further changes to the river ferry system at this time.
He says there’s signs placed all throughout the region that read “save the ferries”, but says there’s nothing to save because the ferries are here to stay.
Fraser says he sympathizes with the people of Gagetown, but adds “it’s time to move on”.
After going on a tour of the region and spending several hours travelling on each of the river ferries Fraser says there was a lot of confusion in terms of whether or not more ferries would be shut down.
Fraser was in Hampton earlier to announce $400,000 in road upgrades through the Municipal Designated Highway Program.
I will be setting record straight on #NB river ferries at 11am announcment in #Hampton. @TJGreaterSJ @TJProvincial @DailyGleaner @chsjnews
