Perseid Meteor Shower To Light Up Sky

Tonight would be a great time to look up.

You’ll spot one of the best perseid meteor showers in several years. It’s expected there will be double the number of meteors or up to 200 per hour.

Backyard Astronomer Gary Boyle told us the best time to witness it, “At 12:45am, then you have the nice dark sky and the Constellation is higher, so pretty well from that time until dawn breaks is the best three and a half hours.”

Boyle says some of these could be pretty bright, “Just look up, and you should see a great lights show. Some of these might be pretty bright, some will only be the size of a grain of sand, but others will be pea sized.
