The Regional’s Chief of Staff Dr. John Dornan says for the last 30 years the ICU has been the bridesmaid never the bride adding there was always something more pressing like improving the Emergency department.
He says when the ICU was built there was no cardiac surgery here adding the trauma patients
need more better, private and expert space.
$2.5 million will be used this year on planning and design and Dr. Dornan expects construction will begin by the end of the year.
