New Brunswick Fire Departments Focus On Home Escape Plans For Fire Prevention Week

The theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week in New Brunswick is “Every Second Counts – Plan 2 Ways Out.”

Provincial Fire Marshal Douglas Browne says home escape planning is critical to your safety because in typical home fires you may have as little as two minutes to get out.

While developing a home-escape plan, people are reminded to mark two exits from each room, and teach their children to escape on their own in case families are separated.

As well, you’re encouraged to ensure your civic address is clearly visible in all seasons to firefighters.
