Post Secondary Education Minister Donald Arsenault says he doesn’t know if tuition fees will be going up next September because the discussions are continuing.
He does says of the 9 thousand or so students who applied for financial help to attend public universities and colleges, 55 per cent of them are paying no tuition.
Arsenault points out in the last 11 Conservative budgets, tuition fees have risen by 51 per cent. By comparison, he says under the last 6 Liberal budgets, tuition rose by 9 per cent.
