Tuesday Morning Sports For October 10th

In the Major League playoffs, Aaron Judge drove in 2 runs as the New York Yankees beat Cleveland 7-3 to force a fifth and deciding game…….Cody Bellinger homered, drove in two runs and flipped over a dugout railing to steal an out as the Los Angeles Dodgers downed Arizona 3-1 to sweep the series in three straight……The Boston Red Sox were eliminated after losing to Houston 5-4 and the Chicago Cubs came from behind for a 2-1 win over Washington to take a 2 games to 1 lead as Anthony Rizzo drove in the winning run on a bloop single with 2 out in the 8th.

In the NHL, Auston Matthews scored at 3:43 of overtime to give Toronto a 4-3 win over Chicago….Colorado shut out Boston 4-0…..St. Louis goalie Jake Allen made 40 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over the New York Islanders…..In other play, it was New Jersey 6 Buffalo 2…..Tampa Bay 4 Washington 3 in overtime……Winnipeg 5 Edmonton 2 and Calgary 2 Anaheim 0.

At the Atlantic Challenge Cup hockey tournament, New Brunswick won the Girls Under 18 title, 4-2 over P-E-I and the Girls Under 16 championship, 4-1 over Nova Scotia.

In the NFL, quarterback Case Keenum, in relief of Sam Bradford, led three second-half scoring drives in Minnesota’s 20-17 win over Chicago.

The Harbour View High School girls softball team is heading to provincials next weekend after defeating Leo Hayes 8-6………Harbour View High’s Junior Varsity boys soccer team won two games over the weekend defeating Fundy High 6-1 and 2-1.
