He started teaching on the west side in the late 50’s and still serves on the District Education Council.
The DEC honoured Gerry Mabey for his role in helping three school communities transform into one at Seaside Park Elementary.

Mabey helped out when St. Patrick’s had to close and with transitioning students into other schools and now he’s thrilled that students and parents are happy in the new school.
The learning centre at Seaside Park Elementary will be named after Mabey.
